Installing and Configuring CoreFTP LE for Windows

Fling FTP Software is a powerful ftp program that differs from other FTP clients by integrating seamlessly with your Windows Explorer. Fling runs behind the scenes and allows you to download or upload files from anywhere on the PC using the right click menu of Windows. Fling is generally used to maintain an online or to automate backup of folders. The software supports file transfer protocol (FTP) and network file transfer. Uploads can be automatic (upload as soon as files are changed), at a predetermined interval (eg every hour) or manually.

Download and Install the Software

You should now see a screen similar to the one below:

• The folders and files in the left window pane display the contents of the computer you're connecting from.

• The folders and files in the right window pane should display the contents of your Novell home directory (commonly known as your H: drive), or your FTP directory. If you do not see the folder and files you expect to see, please contact the Help Desk or your college or department network administrator.

• You can transfer files back and forth between your local computer and your home or FTP directories by simply dragging and dropping files between the window panes into the appropriate folders.

• More information on the use of Core FTP LE can be found in the program by selecting the appropriate item under the Help menu.
